Health Care Reform Public Forum in NYC
To coincide with Simon’s strategic goal to provide meaningful commentary on public policy issues, the School hosted another well-attended public forum in New York City on health care reform. Dean Mark Zupan moderated the lively discussion which included panelists (in order of appearance on the accompanying video) Gerard J. Wedig, associate professor of business administration and health care economist at the Simon School; Bernard T. Ferrari ’70, ’74M (MD), chairman, Ferrari Consultancy and former director and partner, McKinsey & Company, a member of the University of Rochester Board of Trustees; Steven I. Goldstein, president and C.E.O., Strong Memorial and Highland Hospitals; and John Mosley ’71 M.B.A., senior vice president of strategy and business development, Spectrum Health.
The panelists examined health care reform from their own perspectives, the issues of cost and maintaining quality health care, and how the proposed regulatory changes will impact our medical institutions. A series of questions and answers followed.
